Installing Shank Bolts (Pre-2019 Models)

You will have originally been provided with an Allen Key / Screwdriver tool that will be needed for this repair.

Other Screwdrivers and Allen Keys of the correct size will also work.

Step 1

Place your 3Style Scooter® on a table or similar surface upside-down, this will allow you to have easy access to the bottom of the front of the scooter / steering column

Step 2

Remove the two bolts located at the top going through the metal plate.

Step 3

Then remove the small screws which also go through the bottom of the metal plate.

Step 4

Remove the metal plate.

Step 5

Remove the plastic guard.

Step 6

Pull the wheel axial off from the base and put this to one side.

Step 7

There are two small screws located on the base either side of the spring.

Step 8

Remove these two small screws.

Step 9

Next remove the two small screws located at the top of the base of the scooter, as shown in this picture. It’s not necessary to remove any more than the top two.

Step 10

Pull on the coloured plastic to separate this from the black base.

Step 11

The old nuts are still located in the scooter. To remove these push them out using the old bolt.

Step 12

These will then pop out the other side.

Step 13

Once both nuts have been removed discard the old bolts and nuts and then you can put in the new bolts.

Step 14

The longer side of the new bolt goes through the top part, as seen in this picture.

Step 15

When this has been pushed through, pull this down into place.

Step 16

Once both of the bolts have been put into place push the coloured plastic back into position on the scooter.

Step 17

Screw the four small screws back into place, the two either side of the spring and the top two on the base of the scooter.

Step 18

Put the wheel axial back onto the scooter. Position this first onto the bolts and then you can push the spring into the holder on the base of the scooter.

Step 19

Put back the plastic guard back into place.

Step 20

Put the metal plate back on the scooter and secure this into place with the two smaller ends of the shank bolts and finally the two smaller screws.
